Caldwell, Idaho – Last weekend proved to be a tragic and perilous time in Idaho, with a series of car accidents claiming lives and causing injuries across the state. Among the incidents reported, four fatalities, including one juvenile, occurred in devastating highway accidents since Saturday. Additionally, five individuals were reported injured and in need of medical attention at various Idaho hospitals as a result of these crashes.

One of the accidents involved a juvenile from Melba, Idaho, driving a Ford F150 pickup truck, colliding with a Toyota Camry on Southside Boulevard and Melmont Road in Canyon County on Saturday evening. Tragically, the juvenile, who was not wearing a seatbelt, did not survive the crash. The driver of the Toyota and a passenger, both wearing seatbelts, were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The Idaho State Police are conducting investigations into all the accidents mentioned.

Another fatal accident occurred involving a dump truck and a pickup truck pulling a trailer in Canyon County on Monday afternoon. The collision, which claimed the lives of both drivers, took place on US20/26 near milepost 18. The driver of the dump truck, who was not wearing a seatbelt, and the driver of the pickup truck, who was wearing a seatbelt, both succumbed to their injuries at the crash scene.

Furthermore, Idaho State Police provided an update on a previous injury accident that turned fatal, involving a white Dodge Ram colliding head-on with a semi-truck on US12. The driver of the Dodge Ram passed away from injuries sustained in the accident. The police have yet to provide further updates on this incident.

In addition to these tragic events, two other accidents on Saturday evening resulted in injured occupants being transported to hospitals for treatment. One incident involved a male driver failing to yield at a stop sign and colliding with a parked train, while the other involved a police officer in a stationary vehicle being struck by an elderly driver on US95 in Fruitland. Both the officer and the individual in custody were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

As authorities continue to investigate these accidents, it serves as a somber reminder of the importance of caution and adherence to traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies on Idaho roads.
