**Arrested**: Saab Driver in Tampines Crash Facing Charges for Dangerous Driving

Singapore – A tragic six-vehicle crash in Tampines on Monday has led to the arrest of the driver of the Saab car allegedly involved in the incident. The 42-year-old driver, initially assisting with investigations, was arrested on Wednesday for dangerous driving causing death. His driving license was immediately suspended following his discharge from the hospital on Wednesday. Police are continuing their investigations into the crash, which claimed the lives of two individuals on April 22 at the junction of Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Avenue 4.

According to authorities, a 17-year-old female car passenger and a 57-year-old female van passenger were taken to the hospital after the crash, where they tragically succumbed to their injuries. The victims have been identified as Norzihan Juwahib, 57, and Afifah Munirah Muhammad Azril, 17.

One of the deceased, Afifah Munirah Muhammad Azril, was a first-year student at Temasek Junior College (TJC) on her way to participate in the annual TJC Run when the accident occurred. The principal of TJC, Liu Earnler, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a student and assured that the school would provide support to those affected by the tragic incident.

Additionally, Norzihan Juwahib, reportedly affiliated with a pest control firm in Tampines, was among those involved in the crash. Three male car drivers, a male van driver, and two male minors were also injured and transported to various hospitals. The 42-year-old male car driver is cooperating with police investigations.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the scene of the accident, providing assistance to those in need. Several individuals were hospitalized, with four being taken to Changi General Hospital, two to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and two others to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Members of the public, including a nurse and off-duty SCDF officers, also aided in providing assistance to the injured parties.

Videos and photos shared on social media platforms captured the aftermath of the crash, illustrating the severity of the incident. The wreckage of the vehicles, along with the presence of emergency personnel, highlighted the chaotic scene that unfolded in Tampines on that fateful day.
