Carjacking Murder Investigation Unravels Complex Web of Connections and Arrests

Winter Springs, Florida – Authorities in Winter Springs, Florida are unraveling a complex web of crime that started with an “incredibly frightening” carjacking incident that tragically ended with the death of Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas, a 31-year-old woman. The investigation into the carjacking, which was captured on camera by a witness, has led to significant developments, including multiple arrests and connections to other criminal activities.

The incident unfolded on April 11 when witnesses reported a carjacking involving an armed man in a black hoodie and mask, pointing a weapon at the driver of a white Dodge Durango before fleeing the scene. Subsequently, gunshots were heard, and a vehicle was discovered ablaze in Osceola County with a charred body believed to be Guerrero. Investigators suspected she was targeted, as her husband received a call from her while she was being followed by a green Acura prior to the crime.

A person of interest, Jordanish Torres-Garcia, was arrested by the United States Marshals Services on unrelated charges and was later linked to Guerrero’s carjacking and murder. Another suspect, Giovany Joel Crespo Hernandez, was found to be associated with Guerrero before her death, leading to the discovery of illicit items at his residence. Additionally, Hernandez’s girlfriend, Monicsabel Romero Soto, was arrested for accepting a delivery containing illegal substances.

As the investigation progressed, authorities uncovered potential connections between Guerrero’s murder and another homicide involving truck driver Juan Luis Cintron-Garcia in Orange County. The presence of similar shell casings at both crime scenes indicated a possible link between the two cases. Furthermore, an Orange County deputy, Francisco Estrella, was arrested for alleged misconduct related to the investigation, highlighting the complexities of the case.

Prosecutors have yet to file murder charges in Guerrero’s case, as investigators continue to piece together evidence and explore potential leads. Hernandez, Torres-Garcia, and Romero-Soto remain persons of interest in the ongoing investigation. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward to aid in resolving this multifaceted criminal case.
