Tragic Renton Collision Leaves Four Dead, Three Critically Injured – Speed a Factor, Neighbors Express Safety Concerns

RENTON, WASHINGTON – A tragic collision in Renton has resulted in four fatalities and left three individuals in critical condition, per Puget Sound Fire officials. The incident occurred at the intersection of 140th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 192nd Street around 12:43 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to authorities, the victims of the crash included a 38-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl, and two 12-year-old children. The 38-year-old woman has been identified as Andrea Hudson, as confirmed by a verified GoFundMe page. The three children were Eloise Wilcoxson, Boyd B. Brown, and Matilda Wilcoxson, as reported by the King County Medical Examiner.

Andrea Hudson was driving a van near her residence with her children and three other children when their vehicle was struck by another car. Sadly, Andrea and the three other children lost their lives in the collision. Her two children were critically injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

The massive scale of the incident prompted Puget Sound Fire to classify it as a mass casualty event. Additional resources were called in to assist with the triage process and provide aid to all those affected, including fire crews from Puget Sound, Renton, and King County Medic One.

Neighbors expressed concerns about the intersection’s safety, citing the dangerous nature of the area and their past efforts to raise these issues with the county. Speed may have played a role in the crash, according to officials. An 18-year-old man, identified as the causing driver, is currently under guard at Harborview Medical Center, with pending criminal charges.
