Double Homicide Investigation Underway in Meridian: Police Seek Public’s Help

Meridian, Mississippi – The Meridian Police Department is urging the community to step forward with any information that may assist in the investigation of a tragic double homicide case. Police Chief Deborah Naylor Young revealed during a press conference on Friday that officers were called to a potential home invasion incident just after 6 p.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival, they discovered Miles Herrington, 97, and his wife, Ina Herrington, 94, deceased with multiple injuries.

Young stated that the department’s violent crime unit is actively involved in collecting evidence and gathering information to progress the investigation further. Autopsies have been scheduled for both victims to aid in determining the circumstances of their deaths.

Expressing condolences to the families affected by the violent act, Young emphasized the police department’s dedication to identifying the individual or individuals responsible for the crime.
