Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – A man in Oklahoma City was recently arrested and jailed for a violent and random attack on three women in the Plaza District. The disturbing incident, which was captured on camera outside a bar late Friday night, left one of the victims requiring transportation to a local hospital by EMSA.
The video footage released by the Oklahoma City police reveals the unsuspecting victims being assaulted by the perpetrator, identified as Adam Hartico, 33, near northwest 16th and Gatewood Avenue. According to Oklahoma City Police Department Sgt. Dillon Quirk, the attack appeared to be completely unprovoked, leaving the victims in shock and with significant injuries.
In the video, Hartico can be seen forcefully slamming the victims’ heads together before proceeding to deliver another violent blow to one of the defenseless victims lying on the ground. Despite the efforts of two bystanders who attempted to apprehend the suspect, Hartico managed to flee the scene.
The victims, who suffered head trauma and memory loss, recounted their harrowing ordeal to investigators. Court documents revealed that one of the women sustained a broken nose, along with severe bruising and swelling on her face as a result of the attack.
Local business owners in the vicinity expressed horror after viewing the video footage of the assault and emphasized the need for improved safety measures in the area. Rachael Leonhart, Executive Director of the Plaza District Association, conveyed condolences to the victims and their families, denouncing the senseless nature of the attack and calling for increased investment in mental health resources.
Following a swift investigation, Hartico was identified and taken into police custody on two counts of aggravated assault and battery, as well as one count of assault and battery. Authorities also revealed that Hartico had previously attacked another woman in a Plaza District parking lot earlier that day by attempting to forcibly remove her from her vehicle.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing need for enhanced safety measures and mental health resources in the community, urging officials at all levels of government to prioritize these critical issues.
