Man Charged with Homicide in Atkinson County Shooting Investigation

Axson, Georgia – A Pearson man has been arrested in connection with a homicide investigation in Atkinson County. The Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office sought assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) on Tuesday, April 30, after receiving reports of an unresponsive man in a car in Axson.

Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene on Wright Lane to discover the lifeless body of Johan Romero, 27, inside a car with gunshot wounds, as stated by the GBI. Following evidence and interviews, Pablo Miranda, 32, was taken into custody on Wednesday, May 1, related to Romero’s death.

Miranda has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault, and he is currently being held in the Atkinson County Jail. Authorities anticipate additional arrests to be made as the investigation progresses.
