Threatening Document Results in Third Middle School Student Charged for Planned Attack

Fort Worth, Texas – A third student from Wilson Middle School in far north Fort Worth has been charged in connection with creating an online document outlining a planned attack against students and staff, according to officials from the Northwest Independent School District.

After a tip from a parent on May 1, school officials discovered a disturbing document detailing plans to target 25 students and seven staff members at Wilson Middle School. Two students were initially arrested with pending felony charges, with a third student being identified later.

The school district stated that all three students involved in the incident have been charged with a felony terroristic threat. Following the district’s Discipline Management Plan, students charged with such offenses could face placement in the District Alternative Education Program for a period of 45 to 60 days.

To ensure the safety of students and staff, Northwest ISD schools will conduct a threat assessment review before allowing a student involved in terroristic threats to return to campus. In addition, an armed security guard will be present at Wilson Middle School for the remainder of the school year, along with a school resource officer from the Fort Worth Police Department.

In response to the incident, counselors will be available at the school to provide support to students. Students who missed school in the days following the discovery of the threatening document due to safety concerns will have their absences excused by officials.

Officials emphasized the importance of reporting any suspicious activity to campus administrators and staff promptly. Concerns can also be reported anonymously through the district’s tip line, underscoring the commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment at Wilson Middle School.
