Murder/Suicide at Red River National Wildlife Refuge Trail Leaves Two Dead in Bossier City

BOSSIER CITY, Louisiana – Bossier City Police Department is currently investigating a tragic incident that took place near the Red River National Wildlife Refuge trail. Authorities were alerted to a potential murder-suicide case after responding to a 911 hang-up call at Scenic Overlook No. 1 in Bossier City around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a man and a woman inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds to their heads. Tragically, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Bossier City Police detectives were promptly dispatched to the location to conduct a thorough investigation, which preliminarily concluded that the incident was indeed a murder-suicide. As of now, the identities of the individuals involved have not been disclosed.
