San Antonio Shootings Leave Three Children Critically Injured, One Dead

San Antonio, Texas – In a disturbing incident on Wednesday night, five individuals, including three young children, were shot in what officials believe to be a targeted attack. Tragically, a four-year-old girl lost her life due to her injuries sustained during the shooting.

The horrifying event took place at 7:49 p.m. when two assailants armed with semi-automatic rifles unloaded gunfire at a residence off Windsor Hollow Drive in San Antonio’s Northeast Side.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar revealed that upon the deputies’ arrival, they discovered five victims with gunshot wounds, with three of them being children under the age of 10, the youngest being four years old.

All five victims were quickly transported to a local hospital, where the youngest victim tragically succumbed to her injuries. The other four victims, including two adults in their 20s and 30s, were reported to be in critical to grave condition.

Although no immediate arrests were made, Salazar disclosed that the authorities were diligently pursuing several leads, including a suspect who allegedly had exchanged text messages with one of the victims prior to the shooting.

Speaking at a press conference, Salazar expressed his concerns about the deliberate targeting of a house with children occupants, emphasizing the recklessness of the attackers who recklessly fired about 20 to 25 rounds within seconds, inflicting extensive damage to the property. He remarked that it was miraculous that the outcome did not result in more fatalities.

The sheriff also noted that the suspects utilized high-capacity weapons during the attack, further underscoring the violence and potential danger faced by the victims inside the residence. The investigation continues as authorities work to apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime.
