West Delhi, India – A sharpshooter allegedly involved in firing at a car showroom in west Delhi was fatally shot in an encounter with the Delhi Police Special Cell near the Shahbad Dairy area in the early hours of Friday. The shooter, identified as Ajay alias Goli, was known to be a sharpshooter for Portugal-based gangster Himanshu Bhau. According to officials, Ajay opened fire at the police team that intercepted him while traveling in a car.
Ajay, a native of Haryana’s Rohtak, had a criminal record involving multiple cases of murder, attempted murder, and violations under the Arms Act in both Haryana and Delhi. Police also linked him to the murder of a businessman in Murthal, Sonipat, on March 10. On May 6, Ajay and his associate Mohit Ridhau fired shots at a second-hand luxury car showroom in the Tilak Nagar area, resulting in injuries to seven people as bullets hit glass doors and window panes.
The shooters had left behind a handwritten note containing the names of three gangsters – Bhau, Neeraj Faridkot, and Naveen Bali. The owner of the showroom received a call from an international number demanding Rs 5 crore as “protection money.” Ridhau was later apprehended in Kolkata. Ajay’s encounter with the Delhi Police Special Cell marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the violent incident at the car showroom, shedding light on the criminal activities of organized crime groups operating in the region.
