Shooting Leaves One Dead, Another Injured in Bronx Drive-By Incident

NEW YORK, The Bronx – Deadly violence struck the streets of East Bronx on Sunday night, as a potential drive-by shooting resulted in the death of a 29-year-old man and left a 40-year-old man injured, according to the New York Police Department.

The incident took place on Ely Avenue around 10:50 p.m., where authorities found the two victims – one with a fatal gunshot wound to the head and the other with a gunshot wound to the leg. Both men were rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where the younger man was tragically pronounced dead.

Law enforcement reported that several suspects fled the scene in a gray Honda Accord following the shooting. Investigators are urging the public to provide any information that may lead to the apprehension of those responsible.
