Assaulted Friends Speak Out After Brutal Nightclub Attack in Adelaide

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA – A group of friends in Adelaide, Australia, faced a traumatic experience after they were reportedly assaulted outside a nightclub in the city’s central business district. Taneisha Finnegan, Yasmine Chalmers, Caleb Thompson, and another friend recounted a harrowing encounter with a group of up to eight individuals in the early hours of a Sunday morning on Hindley St.

According to the group, the altercation started inside a club and escalated onto the street, turning into a violent attack that was documented on camera. Sharing their ordeal with 7NEWS, Finnegan, 19, described being forcefully dragged to the ground by someone grabbing her by the back of her head. Chalmers, 18, revealed that her hair was ripped out during the scuffle, leaving a noticeable bald spot on the side of her head. Thompson, 20, could only recall being on the receiving end of a barrage of kicks and punches while on the ground.

Authorities reported that a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in the incident. Subsequently, an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were apprehended and charged with assault. They were later released on police bail pending a court appearance.

An investigation is currently underway, with law enforcement urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the case.
