Assault: Man Jailed for Throwing Bleach at Partner in Violent Attack

LLANSANNAN, CONWY – A 34-year-old man from Maes Aled, Llansannan, has been sentenced to 16 months in jail for throwing bleach at his partner during a violent assault. Guy Billington physically attacked his victim on April 15th, leading to his conviction at Mold Crown Court on May 23rd. Additionally, he received a five-year restraining order to protect the victim and a consecutive 16-month sentence for cultivating cannabis.

The assault occurred after the victim informed Billington of her decision to leave him, triggering a violent response. Following the attack, which included pouring bleach on her clothes and throwing it in her face, the victim managed to escape to a neighbor’s house. Despite suffering impaired vision, she alerted authorities by calling 999 and seeking medical help.

Upon investigating Billington’s residence, officers discovered evidence of cannabis cultivation in two rooms upstairs. Detective Constable Andrew Etches praised the victim’s courage for coming forward and emphasized the importance of supporting individuals facing domestic violence.
