BOONVILLE, N.Y. – The Saugerties Stallions maintained their undefeated record this season with a dominant 20-3 victory over the Boonville Lumberjacks in a recent game in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL). The Stallions kicked off the game with an impressive performance, securing an early lead in the first inning thanks to Mario Trivella and Bayram Hot’s contributions.
Despite briefly falling behind, the Stallions quickly regained control of the game with a strong offensive showing in the third inning, taking a lead that they would not relinquish for the rest of the game. Their momentum only continued to build as Matt McIntire blasted a three-run homer in the fourth inning, widening their lead to 10-3, effectively putting the game out of reach for the Lumberjacks.
Ethan Conrad, a Saugerties High graduate, stood out with an impressive 3-for-5 performance at the plate, including a walk and four RBIs. McIntire also made a significant impact with four runs batted in during the game. Following their recent victory, the Stallions are gearing up for upcoming matches against tough opponents, such as the Glens Falls Dragons.
Looking ahead, the Stallions are scheduled to face the Amsterdam Mohawks in their next game after a successful home opener. Fans can catch the action live on Tuesday, June 4th at 7:05 p.m. at Cantine Field. The team’s strong start to the season has set the stage for an exciting journey in the competitive PGCBL, as they aim to maintain their winning streak and showcase their skills on the field.
