Warehouse Worker Fatally Shot in Fort Worth: Family Demands Answers and Justice

FORT WORTH, Texas – The family of Lee Douglas, a 36-year-old electrician who was fatally shot outside his workplace, seeks answers as they try to make sense of the tragic incident. Nevaeh Douglas, Lee’s 18-year-old daughter, is left wondering why her father was targeted in what appears to be a random act of violence.

On May 30, police reports indicate that Lee Douglas was shot in the warehouse parking lot of the Refrescos Beverages facility while on his break during the overnight shift. The father of five sustained gunshot wounds to his back and face as he walked to his car around 2:30 a.m. The incident left his family devastated.

After being rushed to the hospital, Lee fought for his life amid complications from the shooting. Despite their hopes for his recovery, Lee succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, leaving his loved ones grappling with the sudden loss.

Authorities acted swiftly, arresting 18-year-old Decan Mederios from Kettle Falls, Washington on May 31 in connection to the shooting. On June 13, Mederios was formally charged with murder along with several aggravated assault charges, including three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Mederios’s arrest at the Presbyterian Night Shelter raised questions about his motives and background, with reports indicating that he had no known ties to North Texas. His family, shocked and confused by the turn of events, expressed a desire for clarity and understanding regarding his actions.

As the investigation continues, the Fort Worth Police Department has refrained from divulging further information about the case.
