High-Speed Crash Claims Lives of Three Shreveport Teens

Shreveport, Louisiana – Three Shreveport teenagers lost their lives in a tragic high-speed crash involving a stolen vehicle on North Market Street, as confirmed by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office. The victims, identified as 19-year-old Devion Patterson, 18-year-old Jamario Washington, and 17-year-old Zaleia Young, were pronounced dead at the scene. Autopsies have been ordered for all three individuals.

The fatal wreck occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning when Caddo sheriff’s deputies responded to a major crash at North Market at McDaniel Drive, where they found an overturned stolen 2005 Toyota Camry. The incident resulted in multiple injuries, with at least four people being transported to a local hospital for treatment, including three individuals with serious injuries.

Investigations revealed that the stolen Camry was traveling at high speed south on North Market before veering off the road, striking two curbs, and flipping over after colliding with a tree, ultimately coming to rest upside down. Some of the occupants, who were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Additionally, a stolen firearm was recovered from the scene.
