Former President Donald Trump warned Americans to brace themselves for media manipulation regarding the discovery of cocaine in the White House. On Sunday evening, the White House temporarily closed after a powdery substance was found in a workspace within the West Wing, as reported by USA Today. The West Wing houses the offices of President Joe Biden and other high-ranking officials.
Initial suspicions of the substance being cocaine were later confirmed when tests revealed it to be cocaine hydrochloride. On Wednesday, Trump expressed his views on the situation. On his Truth Social platform, he asked if anyone truly believes that the cocaine found near the Oval Office in the West Wing of the White House is intended for anyone other than Hunter & Joe Biden. Trump then called on his followers to mark his words; the Fake News Media will soon claim that the quantity found was ‘insignificant’ and that it was not really cocaine but merely crushed aspirin. They will make the story vanish. He also questioned if the deranged Trump-hating Special Prosecutor, Jack Smith, had been seen near the cocaine because Trump claimed that he, too, looked like a crackhead.
Trump further questioned the absence of White House security footage, Where are the White House SECURITY TAPES, like the ones I openly and happily gave to Deranged Jack Smith?” Trump said it would swiftly reveal the source of the cocaine in the White House. Trump also claimed that they already knew the answer but probably “don’t like it!”
There might be some truth to his words. Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates’ response to the question of whether they would be transparent if they found out who brought cocaine into the White House was disturbing, to say the least when he refused to commit to being transparent. According to him, he would not “engage in hypotheticals.”
Additionally, Bates was asked about comments made by former president Donald Trump regarding whether the cocaine might belong to Joe or Hunter Biden and whether Bates would be willing to say that was “not the case,” that it wasn’t theirs. Bates set tongues wagging when he refused to say that. His excuse was the Hatch Act, the very same one this administration has no problem violating.
According to the Biden administration, a thorough investigation into the matter is currently underway. A USA Today report quoted Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi as saying, “The item has been sent for further analysis, and an investigation is pending to determine how it entered the White House.” Politico cited an anonymous official familiar with the investigation, who suggested that identifying the culprit might prove difficult since the substance was discovered in a high-traffic area of the West Wing, frequently accessed by numerous individuals. The area where the cocaine was found contains cubicles designated for electronic storage.
When questioned about potential suspects, the unnamed official informed Politico, “It will be extremely challenging for us to pinpoint someone because of where it was discovered. Even if surveillance cameras were in place, unless the individual was brandishing it, the incident might not have been captured. It’s a heavily traversed area, and people pass by it regularly.”
On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre clarified that President Biden and his family had been at Camp David from Friday through Tuesday. According to the Daily Mail, Hunter Biden, who is recovering from crack addiction, was at the White House on Tuesday for Independence Day celebrations, but not over the weekend.
Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas demanded full public disclosure of the investigation’s findings in a letter to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. Cotton wrote, “If the security of the White House complex is compromised, it is crucial that Congress is informed about the details and your plan to rectify any security vulnerabilities.”
Cotton also posed specific questions, including if the Secret Service identifies the individual responsible for bringing illicit cocaine into the White House complex, will they make an arrest based on this provision?
