BEAUMONT, Texas – Beaumont police have apprehended a 19-year-old suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a store clerk during an aggravated robbery at a local convenience store. The suspect, Keandre Robinson, was arrested hours after the killing of Sheikh Abir-Hossain, 34, at the Kris Food Mart located at 3090 Gulf.
Robinson was captured leaving the police station and is currently facing a murder charge with a bond set at $800,000. Authorities are still in search of a second suspect who was seen on the store’s surveillance camera, armed with a handgun and wearing distinctive clothing.
According to Officer Haley Morrow, on the night of the incident, two suspects entered the store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint before fatally shooting Abir-Hossain and fleeing with stolen cigarettes. Police were able to identify Robinson and make the arrest with the help of tips from the public and surveillance footage. The store’s video also captured the second suspect, who remains at large.
