COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A Colorado mother wanted by police for the deaths of two of her three children has been apprehended in the United Kingdom. Kimberlee Singler, 35, is accused of killing her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, as well as wounding her 11-year-old daughter. The Colorado Springs Police Department released a statement announcing her arrest on Saturday, but did not provide details of the overseas operation.
The tragic incident began on Dec. 19 when police responded to a burglary call at Singler’s home. Upon arrival, they found Singler and her 11-year-old daughter injured, and her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son dead. Subsequent investigation revealed that the initial burglary report was false. Singler initially cooperated with the police but disappeared during the investigation, the Colorado Springs police said in a statement.
Initially considered a witness and a victim, Singler was allowed to leave the hospital as there was insufficient evidence to suggest her involvement in her children’s deaths. However, the police later obtained an arrest warrant for Singler on charges of murder and attempted murder. The specific details of the murder or the injuries sustained by Singler and her surviving daughter were not disclosed by the police.
Singler now faces multiple first-degree murder charges, as well as charges of child abuse, attempted first-degree murder, and assault. This tragic case has shocked the local community, and the details surrounding the incident continue to develop as the investigation unfolds.
