WASHINGTON – Police in the District reported that a man was shot by a gunman even after he complied with demands to turn over his belongings during an armed robbery on Saturday night.
The incident took place at 9 p.m. on U Street, where the victim was approached by two suspects who demanded his belongings. Despite complying with their demands, the victim was shot by one of the suspects before both perpetrators fled the scene.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Surveillance camera images of the suspects were released by the officers, and anyone with information about the incident was urged to contact the police.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
The incident adds to a series of recent shootings and violent crimes in the District, raising concerns about public safety and the need for increased efforts to address criminal activity in the area.
