Woman Faces Judge After Shocking Act of Animal Cruelty Caught on Camera

LOWELL, Massachusetts – A woman faced a judge on Tuesday after admitting to kicking her dog multiple times, in an act of animal cruelty caught on camera. The incident occurred in an apartment building in Lowell, Massachusetts, where surveillance footage captured the disturbing abuse.

The property manager discovered the footage while reviewing video following a car crash at the building, preventing the case from going unnoticed. The video shows the woman throwing the dog into an apartment on Westford Street, prompting neighbors to express their shock and sadness.

Kimberly Hernandez, 30, appeared in court on two counts of animal cruelty, admitting to abusing her dog, Rex, under the influence of alcohol. After turning herself in, Hernandez became emotional upon seeing the footage, according to prosecutors.

As a result of her actions, Hernandez was ordered to pay $5,000 bail and have no unsupervised contact with animals, surrendering all pets, including Rex, who is now in the custody of animal control. She is scheduled to appear in court again next month.

The disturbing case has left neighbors in tears and raised concerns about the mistreatment of animals, with community members emphasizing the severity of the abuse and the need for consequences. The outcome of the case has led to mixed emotions among those affected, as they grapple with the injustice of the situation.
