The incident took place at Teliadih village, approximately 230km from Ranchi, and authorities suspect that the deaths may be the result of poisoning.

Upon receiving a report from villagers, police arrived at the scene and discovered that the mother and child were already deceased, while the man, identified as Jogendra Bhuinya, was barely alive. Despite being rushed to Chhatarpur divisional hospital, he passed away shortly after arrival.
