Florida Teen Killed, People Knew She was Held Captive

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – The murder case of 16-year-old Miranda Cossett has unveiled disturbing revelations, with two suspects in custody and her body still unaccounted for. Newly released court documents expose the grim reality that multiple individuals were aware of her plight but chose not to alert the police.

An anonymous source, yet to be charged, described the brutal treatment Cossett endured before her death. The affidavit reveals that six people knew of her captivity and abuse, yet remained silent.

The accused, Steve Grass, 35, and Michelle Brandis, 37, face serious charges related to Cossett’s murder. The affidavit details how Grass’s mother and two others were sent incriminating photos of Cossett, depicting her deteriorating condition.

A witness residing in the same building as the suspects provided a chilling narrative of the events preceding Cossett’s death. She recounted the transportation of Cossett’s body to Brandis’s mother’s home, where the suspects allegedly dismembered it.

David Horton, the property’s owner, recalled previous complaints about disturbances linked to the suspects’ apartment, including loud altercations.

In a jail interview, Grass reportedly expressed remorse and implicated Brandis, who, in turn, labeled Grass as the main aggressor, citing fear of his wrath.

Both suspects face first-degree murder charges, with Pasco State Attorney Bruce Bartlett indicating the possibility of additional charges as the investigation continues.

Determined to deliver justice for Miranda Cossett, authorities remain steadfast in their pursuit of the truth.
