FORT WORTH, TX – The aftermath of a tragic weekend crash in Fort Worth has left a family grappling with the loss of loved ones and praying for the recovery of an 18-year-old girl fighting for her life in intensive care. The collision, which claimed three lives, has yet to yield any arrests or definitive answers as investigations continue.
The crash, which occurred early Saturday morning on Riesinger Road, involved multiple vehicles and resulted in the deaths of three individuals. Among those killed was 19-year-old Kiana White, leaving behind two young children. Her sister, Kiara White, remains in critical condition at JPS Hospital, having undergone emergency surgery due to internal injuries.
Delilah Matthis, mother to both Kiana and Kiara, is devastated by the loss of one daughter and the uncertainty surrounding the other’s recovery. She described Kiana as a sweet, caring individual with a heart of gold, emphasizing her love for her children. “She was doing very good yesterday until last night,” Matthis said, referring to Kiara’s condition. “They had to do an emergency surgery on her.”
Another victim identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner is 19-year-old Tonya Freeman, who was in the car with the White sisters. The vehicle was reportedly crushed between a pickup truck and another car amid rainy weather conditions near a railroad crossing.
Despite the passage of several days since the incident, Fort Worth police have yet to determine the cause of the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not made any arrests. This lack of resolution has left the victims’ families desperate for answers. “We want to know why. We want to know what happened,” said a family member. “I need answers, and I want them. We deserve that much.”
As the community mourns, the identities of two of the three deceased have been confirmed, while the third remains unidentified. The families of the victims are left to navigate their grief and uncertainty, hoping for accountability and closure.
The tragedy has cast a shadow over the Fort Worth community, highlighting the fragility of life and the profound impact of unexpected loss. As the investigation continues, the families of those affected hold on to hope for justice and healing.
