BURIEN, WA – In a chilling case of abduction and torture, two men have been apprehended and charged in Burien, leaving the community reeling from the details of the crime. The victim, who bravely survived the ordeal, described being forced into a vehicle outside her residence after work, an event that nearly ended her life.
The investigation, which spanned several months, has resulted in the arrest of Alexander Arnaez and Kevin Sanabria. They are now facing serious charges, including kidnapping, robbery, and attempted murder. Court documents reveal a sinister plot to abduct the woman, steal her belongings, and ultimately kill her. Despite their intentions, the woman managed to survive.
The harrowing experience began at the woman’s apartment complex, where she was kidnapped upon returning home. The suspects are accused of using a power drill on her hands, making threats, and eventually taking her to a secluded area near Snoqualmie Pass. There, they forced her over a barrier and shot her. She feigned death until they left, allowing her to seek help.
The arrests followed extensive efforts by the King County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI. One suspect was detained by Mercer Island police, while the other was already incarcerated at the King County Jail.
Investigators found that the suspects used brutal tactics, including threats of death and harm to the victim’s family, to gain access to her financial details. The fear of retaliation was significant, as one suspect is believed to have ties to a Venezuelan gang, complicating the investigation.
Community members, aware of the incident and the victim’s cries for help, have been hesitant to come forward, fearing they might become targets themselves. The neighborhood remains tense as residents process the traumatic events.
The charged individuals now face multiple counts of kidnapping, robbery, and attempted murder, with firearm enhancements. Their arrest is a crucial step in ensuring justice for the victim and restoring peace to the community.
