CLOQUET, Minn. – Three people, including the suspected gunman, were reported dead after shots were fired at a motel in Cloquet, Minnesota on Monday. The suspected gunman died following a reported active shooter situation at a Super 8 Motel. A shelter-in-place order issued by Cloquet police has been lifted, covering the area of Big Lake Road and Highway 33, which was issued around 7 p.m.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that three people, including two victims and the suspected gunman, were dead after the shooting. Earlier reports of four deaths were corrected. Police stated that there was no longer a threat to the public around 8:30 p.m.
An alert from the police department mentioned several victims from the incident. Video from KQDS in Duluth showed an active police scene outside the motel. A FOX 9 crew is currently on the way to the scene.
