West Philadelphia Boy Still Missing; Mother and Boyfriend Charged in Murder

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The disturbing case of 4-year-old Damari Carter’s disappearance has taken a grim turn. The child’s mother, Dominique Bailey, and her boyfriend, Kevin Spencer, have been charged with his murder. Despite the charges, the young boy’s body has yet to be found.

The investigation began on Dec. 30, 2023, when the Special Victims Unit in Philadelphia received a report about Damari’s disappearance in West Philadelphia. Bailey initially told her family that her son had been struck and killed by a car, but investigators found no evidence to support her claim.

After being brought in for questioning, Bailey confessed her involvement in her son’s death on Jan. 4. Spencer was also arrested during a search of their home the same day. Despite the arrests, Damari’s body remains missing.

The child’s father, Darryle Carter, revealed that he had been unable to reach his son after his birthday in November. He expressed his shock and sadness over the situation, stating that he could not afford to fly to Philadelphia from Texas.

As authorities continue the search for Damari’s body, the family is anxiously awaiting closure. Damari’s cousin, Aiyana Parrish, expressed the family’s distress, indicating that they are on high alert until they can put the child to rest.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about Damari Carter’s whereabouts to come forward and contact the Philadelphia police. These tragic events serve as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and awareness in cases of child abuse and neglect.
