MILTON, FL – A fast-food employee in Milton has been charged with culpable negligence after an incident at a local Taco Bell. Felicia Archer was arrested earlier this month following allegations that she spat in a customer’s food. The unsettling episode occurred at the Taco Bell on Highway 90.
Kristin Royle, the customer, expressed relief that her vigilance paid off when she discovered the contamination before consuming her meal. Royle had visited the restaurant with her roommate on May 6, expecting a simple fast-food dinner, but instead received a shocking surprise.
Surveillance footage, which has not been publicly released, reportedly captured Archer committing the act. Milton Police Chief Jennifer Frank confirmed that Archer was identified in the footage, and a screenshot of the incident was shared with the authorities.
Royle described the scene as revolting, likening the tainted nacho cheese to something far from appetizing. The investigation revealed that Archer admitted to the act, citing personal grievances involving her boyfriend and Royle as the motive.
Though some may see this as a minor offense, Chief Frank emphasized the importance of maintaining trust in local establishments. Ensuring the safety and integrity of food is paramount for the community.
In the aftermath, Archer has been banned from the premises, and Royle, who also worked at the Taco Bell, faced consequences of her own. She was asked to return her uniform and collect her final paycheck, citing a breach of company policy due to the incident’s social media exposure.
Despite the challenges, Royle expressed gratitude for her decision to check her food. The incident has left her jobless, and she is now seeking new employment opportunities.
The case concluded with Archer pleading no contest in court. She was found guilty and received a sentence of six months probation.
