Palm Bay Shooting: Triple Murder Suspect Arrested in Melbourne

PALM BAY, Fla. – A shooting at a Palm Bay apartment complex left three people dead and two others wounded on Saturday night, prompting a massive search for the suspect that ended with his arrest in Melbourne, police said. The suspect, Te-Shawn Clive Taylor, a 26-year-old Palm Bay resident, was initially charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is being held without bail in the Brevard County Jail Complex.

Upon arrival at the Woodlake Village Apartments, Palm Bay police found the bodies of 60-year-old Angella Suglam, 79-year-old Stephen Suglam, and 31-year-old Lisa Suglam. In addition to the fatalities, two others were found with gunshot wounds: A 15-year-old in critical condition and Gary Taylor, 59, whose injuries were non-life-threatening. This tragic event resulted in a heavy police presence at the complex, with homicide detectives canvassing the area.

Lt. Virginia Kilmer of the Palm Bay Police Department stated that the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no further threat to the public. The shootings occurred around 9 p.m. on Saturday and led to a search for the suspect with the assistance of Melbourne police.

After Taylor’s arrest, a black Lexus believed to be connected to the shooting was spotted atop a tow truck at another complex in south Melbourne. As detectives continued their investigation, residents near the site of the shootings remained blocked in early Sunday.

The reported homicide total in Brevard has now reached four since the beginning of the year. As the investigation continues, more details are expected to emerge, and the community remains shaken by this tragic event.
