Tragic ATV Crash in Alabama: Rome Parents Die, Children Hurt

CHEROKEE COUNTY, AL – A tragic accident at Indian Mountain ATV Park has rocked the community, leaving a family in distress. Marcus Ragland, 34, died after an ATV he was in collided with another vehicle, turning a day of recreation into a nightmare.

Ragland and Ashley Hawkins, along with seven children, were involved in the crash. The ATV overturned and hit a tree, ejecting Ragland, who did not survive. Hawkins remains hospitalized as she recovers from her injuries.

The couple’s children, ranging in age, were also injured. Their 13-year-old son suffered the most serious injuries, while their 10-year-old daughter and 2-year-old sustained significant harm.

The community is rallying to support the grieving family, sharing stories of Marcus’s zest for life and Ashley’s kind nature. “Marcus always lived life enthusiastically,” a family member shared. “He made every moment count.”

With no regulations at the ATV park, the incident has raised concerns about safety and personal responsibility. Authorities stress the importance of protective measures to prevent future tragedies.

An online fundraiser has been established to assist the family with medical bills and support during this challenging time. Community members are urged to contribute and show solidarity.

As friends and family gather to remember Marcus and Ashley, their impact on the community is evident. The love and joy they brought into others’ lives will be cherished forever.
