CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A Halloween party took a tragic turn in Chula Vista when gunfire led to the deaths of two teenagers and the arrest of another on multiple felony charges. The incident, involving more than a hundred guests, escalated from a festivity to a horrifying crime scene late Saturday night, authorities said.
Eighteen-year-old David Garcia, a local resident, was arraigned Wednesday, pleading not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder after the violent confrontation that fatally wounded 15-year-old Kane Roldan and 17-year-old Elias Yanez. The San Diego County District Attorney’s office stated that Garcia faced additional charges, including negligent discharge of a firearm and carrying a loaded gun in public.
Details provided by police indicate that the suspect arrived at the party armed and allegedly showcased the gun at his waist during the evening.
