Kansas City, KS — Authorities have charged a 22-year-old man with murder following the fatal shooting of his girlfriend outside a Halloween party, a celebration he had previously urged her not to attend. Responding to a disturbance call early Nov. 1, Kansas City police discovered 20-year-old Ana Juarez dead on the front porch of a residential home where a Halloween party was being held. The investigation quickly focused on Juarez’s boyfriend, Kevin Calamaco-Morales, after party attendees linked him to the chaos that night. He faces charges of first-degree murder and criminal discharge of a firearm.
According to police affidavits, witnesses reported that Calamaco-Morales had repeatedly tried to contact Juarez during the evening, escalating to 18 phone calls in a span of two minutes.
