BOYNTON BEACH, FL — An 18-year-old woman has been charged with felony offenses after reportedly assaulting a pregnant woman at a local residence last month. The incident, which occurred in a downtown Boynton Beach home, has sparked serious concerns about domestic violence.
Victoria Webb faces charges of aggravated battery against a pregnant person and aggravated child abuse as a result of the altercation that took place on January 19. Authorities were alerted to a disturbance at a home on Southwest Fourth Avenue, leading to Webb’s arrest.
The confrontation began when a six-month-pregnant woman attempted to intervene in a physical dispute between Webb and a young boy at the residence. Police reports indicate the woman was attempting to mediate the fight when she was struck in the face by Webb and subsequently kicked in the stomach.
Additional details provided by law enforcement reveal that prior to the attack on the pregnant woman, Webb was involved in a scuffle with the boy. The child reported to police that during playtime, after he and another child sprayed water around, Webb held his head down forcefully, impeding his breathing.
Upon arrival, officers found Webb walking away from the scene while engaged in a phone conversation. During her questioning, Webb acknowledged awareness of the woman’s pregnancy but expressed indifference. She justified her aggressive response by stating her readiness to retaliate if provoked.
Webb’s account conflicted with physical evidence; she claimed to have been struck with a blow dryer and hit by the pregnant woman, yet she only exhibited a minor scratch on her face. This injury was noted by police but deemed inconsistent with her allegations of being attacked with a blunt object.
The pregnant woman’s husband supported her account when interviewed by authorities, confirming the sequence of events as described by his wife.
Following her arrest, Webb was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. She has since posted bond and been released. Her initial court appearance is scheduled for February 18, with a preliminary hearing set for March 12.
As the legal process unfolds, the condition of the assaulted pregnant woman and her unborn child remains a primary concern, although updates on their medical status have not been made available. The investigation into the incident continues, highlighting an ongoing community and law enforcement effort to address and mitigate domestic violence.
