Man arrested after truck attack at Channelview RV park

Deputies said Fernando Bravo faces two aggravated assault counts after a neighbor was injured.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 27-year-old man was arrested after deputies said he hit a neighbor with a truck during a dispute at an RV park in Channelview, leaving the victim injured and facing repeated hospital visits.

Fernando Bravo was taken into custody after the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said investigators reviewed an incident from Sunday at the RV park. Bravo is jailed on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a charge tied to the alleged use of the truck.

Surveillance video from the RV park showed a truck striking the victim, according to investigators. The victim, who asked not to be named, said the impact was sudden and frightening. “That was a hard hit,” the victim said. He said he did not know whether the truck would continue toward him after the collision.

The victim told reporters the conflict had been building for months but had not been reported before Sunday. He described repeated harassment around the park, including yelling and spitting on vehicles. He also said Bravo had made threats toward his partner before the crash. Deputies said the case escalated from a neighborhood dispute into a criminal investigation after the vehicle struck the man.

The injured man said the crash has affected his health and his ability to work. He said he has been in and out of the hospital since the incident. Officials have not released a full medical update, and the victim’s exact injuries were not made public. Investigators also have not said what started the confrontation Sunday.

The sheriff’s office announced Bravo’s arrest Thursday. Investigators said he was booked into the Harris County Jail on two felony counts. The case remains active, and court records are expected to outline the next steps, including any bond decisions, hearings and possible indictment review.

The victim said he was relieved an arrest had been made. He also said he believed the situation could have turned worse. “Very lucky to be alive,” he said. Residents at the park remained shaken after the incident, which unfolded in a place where neighbors live close together and disputes can quickly draw attention.

Bravo remained jailed after the arrest announcement. The next public milestone in the case is expected through Harris County court proceedings.
