17-Year-Old Rushed To Surgery After Philadelphia Party Stabbing

Police said the 17-year-old was found blocks away with wounds to his back and leg.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — A 17-year-old boy was critically injured late Monday after police said a fight broke out during a party in Philadelphia’s Logan section and ended with the teen stabbed several times.

Officers were called to the 4500 block of North Carlisle Street around 11:45 p.m. Monday. Police said they found the teen a few blocks from the reported fight with multiple stab wounds to his back and leg.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said several people were involved in the fight, including the injured teen. “During the fight is when the 17-year-old juvenile male was stabbed multiple times,” Small said.

Police said officers placed a tourniquet on the teen’s leg before taking him to a hospital. He was listed in critical condition and was undergoing surgery after the stabbing.

Investigators said surveillance cameras in the area may help them learn what happened before, during and after the fight. Police had not released a suspect description, motive or information about any arrests.

The stabbing remained under investigation Tuesday. Police had not said how many people were at the party or whether the weapon had been recovered.
