Cold-Case Murder of WWII Veteran Solved 50 Years Later: Killer Unmasked

Vero Beach, Florida – After more than five decades, authorities have finally identified the perpetrator behind the “execution style” murder of a WWII veteran turned milkman. Hiram “Ross” Grayam, who was delivering milk in April 1968, never made it home from work. His bullet-riddled body and milk truck were later discovered in the Vero Beach region.

The killer, Thomas Williams, was unmasked with the help of individuals who were previously too fearful to come forward with information while he was alive. Williams had confessed to Grayam’s murder before his own death, shedding light on the case that had remained unsolved for 56 years.

During the investigation, it was revealed that a witness had observed Grayam interacting with two men before stating that he would return shortly. Grayam’s family, including his son Larry, shared the shock of the sudden tragedy. Authorities searched the area extensively, eventually locating Grayam’s lifeless body in the woods by airplane.

Despite the passage of time, rumors arose in 2006 linking Williams to the murder. However, it wasn’t until Williams passed away in 2016 that new information surfaced. His ex-wife and a friend of his sister provided crucial details to investigators, leading to a breakthrough in the case.

Detectives have now identified a second suspect in the murder, although the individual’s name has not been disclosed. The motive behind Grayam’s killing remains unclear, leaving lingering questions surrounding the decades-old crime.
