Tragic: Man and Three Children Found Dead in Car at Georgia Park

TUCKER, Ga. – Gwinnett County police are conducting an investigation after discovering the bodies of a man and three children inside a vehicle at Lucky Shoals Park. The tragic incident took place off Britt Road in Tucker, according to authorities.

Sgt. Michele Pihera of the Homicide Unit reported that a patrol officer came across the suspicious vehicle, leading to the grisly discovery of the deceased man and children inside. The victims, two girls and one boy, appeared to have been shot. The children were identified as Arianny Rodriguez, 13, Carlos Rodriguez, 9, and Chadal Rodriguez, 11.

The children’s mother was at the hospital with another child, who was receiving treatment for an unrelated injury. The suspected shooter, who has not been publicly named, is not the children’s father and is not currently in a relationship with the mother.

After meeting with the victims’ mother and children at the hospital, the shooter agreed to take the children to get food while the mother remained at the hospital. The shooter’s identity will be disclosed following notification of next-of-kin.

Authorities emphasized that the incident appears to be isolated, with officers committed to a thorough investigation to bring closure to the impacted families. Locals in the community, such as Meghan Cantrell, expressed shock and sorrow over the tragedy, highlighting the park’s typically safe reputation.

Cantrell, who frequents the park with her son, stated her relief that no families encountered the scene before law enforcement. She further noted the heartbreaking nature of the crime in a place known for family-friendly activities.
