Police say Sierra Iman Little faces four charges after an encounter near Hog Mountain Road and Braselton Highway escalated from a honk to gunfire.
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County police are searching for a 23-year-old woman accused of striking another driver’s vehicle during a road rage encounter and returning moments later to fire multiple rounds at the car.
Police have obtained arrest warrants for Sierra Iman Little in connection with the Sept. 7 incident near Hog Mountain Road and Braselton Highway. Authorities said Little remained out of custody as of the latest public update. She is wanted on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, hit-and-run and reckless driving. The allegations have not been proven in court.
Investigators said the encounter began after Little pulled out of a parking lot and turned in front of another vehicle. The other driver honked, and police said the situation escalated. Authorities allege Little then drove toward the other vehicle at a high rate of speed and struck it before leaving the area.
The other driver got out of a Nissan to inspect the damage, police said. Investigators allege Little returned a short time later and fired multiple shots toward the vehicle. Police said the car was struck by gunfire, but the driver was not injured. Authorities have not reported any other injuries connected to the confrontation.
Police said investigators used several sources to identify Little as a suspect, including surveillance video, Flock Safety camera data, previous records and information supplied by members of the public. Authorities later impounded a vehicle associated with Little, according to police. Officials have not publicly detailed what evidence, if any, was recovered from that vehicle.
The case moved from the initial hit-and-run response to a search for Little after detectives reviewed the available evidence and obtained warrants. Police have not released a detailed account of what happened between the initial collision and the alleged shooting beyond saying Little left and returned moments later.
Investigators also have not publicly identified the other driver. Police said the person escaped injury despite the shots fired at the vehicle. Authorities have not announced whether anyone else was in either vehicle or whether investigators believe anyone else participated in the incident.
The four charges listed by police reflect both parts of the alleged encounter: the collision and the later gunfire. An arrest warrant is an accusation and does not establish guilt. Court proceedings would determine whether prosecutors can prove the allegations if Little is taken into custody and formally prosecuted.
Police have encouraged Little to turn herself in at the Gwinnett County Jail. Investigators also continue to seek information about her whereabouts. No arrest had been announced in the latest reports available Tuesday.
