Abbott Taunts Kamala Harris and Erica Adams by Sending More Buses of Migrants

Sunday morning, two more migrant buses landed in New York City. Most of the passengers looked to be adult males with some women and children in the mix, disembarked at Port Authority on Sunday at 7:00 a.m. EST. More migrant buses are expected to arrive.

On Saturday, over 50 additional migrants disembarked from a bus outside Vice President Kamala Harris’ home in Washington, D.C., making it the third bus to arrive at her door in less than a week.

Most of the passengers on the D.C. bus were Venezuelans, including a one-month-old baby. Aid workers rushed the migrants to a nearby shelter.

Saturday also brought six buses from Texas carrying migrants to the Port Authority as the city’s shelter system approached capacity.
Men, women, and children who took a bus from El Paso, many of whom claimed to be from Venezuela.

Saying they stopped for food, but few people had enough money to buy anything. “I’m starving,” Gustavo Pacheco, 35, who was waiting for his family from New Jersey to pick him up, said.

Pacheco was dressed in an American flag T-shirt that said “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave,” as well as broken plastic shoes. He had insect bites on his swollen feet. He claimed it took one month to go from Venezuela to the U.S. border, followed by a two-day bus trip to New York.
Jan Romero, 35, also from Venezuela, claimed family from New York were going to pick him up. He took off his sneakers to reveal how badly his feet were ripped up after three days of crossing a river.

He is quite thrilled about the potential here. Romero added that he intends to work and is a fantastic auto technician.

Since August 5, the Texas government has bused nearly 2,500 migrants to New York City, according to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s announcement in a news statement on Saturday. Texas has also bused over 8,000 migrants to Washington, D.C., and a little over 600 to Chicago in late August.

On Thursday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced the establishment of a new resource navigation center for recently arrived persons seeking asylum. The resource center was open in collaboration with New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) and the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA).

Adams, a Democrat, called Abbott, Ducey, and DeSantis “rogue” governors for transferring migrants from the border to other parts of the country. He blasted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for sending two flights full of illegal immigrants to the posh Massachusetts island of Martha’s Vineyard, where officials mainly favor sanctuary policy.

The immigration issue has resurfaced in the national spotlight with the arrival of planes bringing migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. Abbott has continually called Vice President Kamala Harris the “Border Czar.” Harris has been entrusted with addressing the “root reasons” of migration to the US-Mexico border, which she described as “secure” on Sunday.

In an interview, Harris accused Republican governors of “dereliction of duty,” while Emhoff. Harris’s husband) branded the arrivals “shameful” and a “political stunt.”

When the VP was asked about the “solution” to the immigration situation, Harris did not mention border security. Instead, she pointed the finger at former President Donald Trump, claiming that his government “decimated” the immigration system. Harris claims they spent an unbelievable amount of time, energy, and resources rebuilding that system over the last 18 months.
Harris said that a law giving a road to citizenship for people in the nation illegally, as well as billions of dollars to help migrants stay in their home country, would be part of the solution.
