PHOENIX, AZ – Police officers in Phoenix are being hailed as heroes after they rescued a baby found alone in an apartment where the infant’s mother had reportedly passed away days earlier. On May 14, officers responded to a call from concerned neighbors who hadn’t seen the woman for several days.
Upon arrival, officers peered through an open window and discovered an unsettling scene. A woman lay motionless, while a baby remained wrapped in a blanket nearby. The child, still on the bed, appeared to be in the same position the mother had left him.
Residents of the apartment complex, located near Central and Illinois, had grown anxious when the woman was not seen for an extended period. Their vigilance and quick response played a crucial role in alerting authorities.
Medical professionals later revealed that the baby’s survival hinged on the rapid intervention by law enforcement. If not for the officers’ swift actions, the child might not have endured much longer alone.
Sergeant Brian Bower commended the officers and neighbors for their immediate and decisive actions. “Their quick thinking and responsiveness made all the difference,” he stated.
The infant has since been discharged from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. The Department of Child Safety is now involved to ensure the child’s well-being.
